British Invasion、イギリスの侵略と云う表現があります。 1960年代半ばにイギリスのロックやポップ・ミュージックをはじめとする英国の文化がアメリカ合衆国を侵略した。と表現されている事項です。
背景

1950年代末から米国の反逆的なイメージが
　イギリスの若者の間で人気を博し始めます。
1960年代。米国から本物のブルースが英国へ。
1962年に始まる英国の動き
　【マージービート・リヴァプールサウンド】
1960年代半ばに、イギリスで誕生した
　【モッズやロッカーズといった若者文化】

1960年半ばから1967年には、1950年代には本国アフリカ系人のアーティストが演奏していた時には無視されたり拒否されていたR&Bや黒人文化に根ざした音楽ジャンルが、英国のアーティストたちにより米国に持ち込まれ、そして一大ブームとなります。

較的均質な世界規模で展開する「ロック」という音楽スタイルが1967年頃に出現しましたが、これが【英国がアメリカ合衆国を侵略】の終焉。と考えられています。
